C# Developer with C++ skills

As a software developer in the Interaction Engine team you will work in the heart of the Tobii Eye Tracking Core Software stack, developing new eye tracking features, interaction logic and SDK’s that will enable new type of eye tracking applications to be created.
The Interaction Engine team is a software team in Tobii Tech which develops and maintains multiple software components for the Tobii Core Software stack. We are agile and work closely together with our product owner and other teams that are building adjacent layers in the software stack using the SDKs we provide.

The role and responsibilities

In this role you will work together with dedicated and skilled colleagues to enhance and implement new features in the Tobii Interaction Engine middleware and create world class SDKs for application developers who wants to enrich their applications with eye tracking interaction. You will expand your knowledge in a wide variety of frameworks and programming languages and have the chance to improve our products based on customer feedback. We will offer you a chance to directly influence your daily work, innovate new features together with collegues and take on more responsibility as you progress.

Your days will be filled with:

• Solving challenging and rewarding development tasks and problem solving in tight cooperation with colleagues.
• Developing new features and algorithms in order to amaze our customers that rely on our software stack to make their own products successful.
• Trimming the engine to improve performance and quality of existing features.
• Technical discussions, innovation, prototyping and implementation.

We are looking for someone who

• Quickly dives into large and complex software projects to find out how to add and fit new features into the existing architecture or fix existing issues.
• Has strong programming and design skills in C#/.NET and/or C++ (preferably both).
• Is eager to learn new frameworks and technologies and has a drive to always learn more.
• Loves to prestigelessly propose, discuss and evolve technical solutions together in a team.
• Has experience in developing desktop applications and designing APIs.
• Has knowledge/experience in designing and working with multi-threaded applications.

We find it to be a strong merit if you have experience in/knowledge in/worked with:

• Windows desktop and/or system development (WINAPI), and/or Windows services.
• Windows application development in UWP, WPF or other UI frameworks.
• Large and complex code bases.
• C++/CLI (Integrating managed and native code).
• Real-time or performance-critical applications.
• JavaScript.
• Test-driven development (TDD) / unit testing.
• GIT, GIT-workflows
• Build systems such as MSBuild or CI systems such as Jenkins.
