Solution Delivery Unit DVP
Solution delivery Unit DVP is a global unit within Volvo providing IT solution supporting all Volvo Group product development globally. The mission of the unit is to ensure that the Volvo Group´s IT solutions and IT projects within the area of product development are managed in an optimal way.
Solution Center CAD/VPDM & VM
The Solution Center CAD/VPDM & VM is a function, within Solution delivery Unit DVP. The Solution Center (SC) has the responsibility to deliver applications used in the Volvo Group for 3D development and virtual product data management and data analysis. The SC covers both unique (TD/BA) and shared (Global) solutions. The SC has full responsibility for runtime (cost, quality of service) and for the delivery of projects. The SC is supporting roadmap design and long term planning in its area. It is then responsible to drive deliveries according to the global solutions agenda.

We are about to start a new journey, shaping Volvo’s new way of working within the Product Configuration area which support a broad user base such as Designers, Geometry Architects, Sales representatives, Aftermarket and users within Volvo Group Truck Operations, with a specific focus on IT solutions supporting this area.
We are now looking for an Application Developer within C++ and JAVA with a passion for software design, strategic thinking and high level design. The Application Developer is accountable for taking the business needs to build and manage software application and adopted standards, definitions and specifications in to application lifecycle management.

Wanted profile:
You need to have the ability to work under demanding, challenging and changing conditions. You enjoy teamwork, contribute with team spirit and you like taking responsibility. You have the ability to inspire, develop and motivate individuals and teams.
Required competencies:
•Knowledge about VOLVO’s product structure (KOLA), is a plus
•Truck product knowledge and interest in this
•Programming languages:
•Mainly PHP but also some KornShell and dos
•Development tools: Mainly C++ but also JAVA
•Web technologies: HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery etc. (using Apache server)
•System integration: MQ, Soap
•Database experience: ORACLE
•CAD (Pro/E and CATIA) knowledge and experience
•Visualization (CREO View, Composer and DMU Navigator)
•Experience in Agile way of working and having an Agile mind-set
•Knowledge about test automation is a big+
•A university degree in Computer science or similar
•Fluent in English
•Ability to establish and maintain good relations with your internal and external stakeholders
•You have documented experience from assignments in designing and developing applications
Main responsibilities
•Designing and implementing solutions according to customer's requirements
•Creating and assisting in development of software technical documentation
•Participating in design discussions and solving complex business problems
•Planning and time estimation of tasks
