Senior Java Developer

Nasdaq Technology is now looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the Nasdaq Central Securities Depository (Nasdaq CSD) team in Stockholm. You will sit in the renovated former Ford assembly plant in Frihamnen, in our spacious and open plan factory-style campus which houses 700 of Nasdaq’s IT talent across many departments including engineering, architecture, development and verification.

You will work with Nasdaq CSD, our state of the art settlement and depository platform currently on the verve to conquer the world with pioneering customer implementations under way and with many exciting customers in the pipeline.

About the team, role and responsibilities:

As Senior Java Developer you will be part of an international development team that serves customers and delivers solutions to market places across the globe. In collaboration with colleagues you will play a key role in the development of technology solutions of varying sizes to new and existing customers. You will:
Develop new complex functionality in an environment handling large data volumes and demands for high availability.
Review business requirements and software design specifications prior to starting development.
Write and execute unit tests using continues integration/delivery tools in order to get fast feedback in faulty situations.
Take the lead and deliver new system functionalities in sprints, perform demo presentations and retrospectives at the end of each sprint, for customer and team.

University degree in computer science, information technology, software development or similar.
At least 5 years of work experience in enterprise Java application development, including Hibernate, EJB and Spring.
Deep understanding of the Java language, object oriented design and patterns with special focus on:
JDBC, JPA
Message oriented middleware (e.g. JMS)
Webservice API design (SOAP, REST)
Test-driven development, unit-testing, JUNIT and mocking
Work experience of JBoss/WildFly or similar application server.
Work experience of Linux and databases.
Previous experience in system architecture.
Previous proven experience in leading a scrum team.
Excellent language skills in written and spoken English.
