Algorithms play an essential role in eye tracking technology and mass market applications pose extremely challenging requirements. Tobii is now looking for an R&D Manager to join our growing computer vision and algorithm team. In this role, you will work both as a manager and as an algorithm developer.

The role and responsibilities

You will be a member of a team of managers with the mission to build a world class computer vision and algorithm group with the capacity to push the performance of eye tracking algorithms beyond what is possible today. As a manager, you will:

Be involved in leading the organization of the algorithm development.
You will lead 5-8 highly skilled algorithm developers at a personal level
Responsible for recruitment, personal development, one-on-ones, everything that make your employees thrive, etc.
Engage in the creative process of product development, make sure we have an innovative environment and are structured such that ideas can be realized.
In your algorithm developer role, you will be an important part of the core technology team responsible for the development of eye tracking algorithms to be used in all our products. As a developer, you will:

Design, implement and improve algorithms for eye controlled products.
Analyze and tune algorithms to maximize performance.
Evaluate and optimize code to meet timing and memory requirements.
Be part of a team that tackles real problems using state of the art computer vision, machine learning and image processing technologies.

We are looking for someone who

Had a team manager role before or have been the informal leader and now want to take it to the next level.
Has a passion for creating an energetic fun environment where developers thrive and can achieve their full potential.
Has a solid developer background and is knowledgeable in one or more of the following areas: signal and image processing, computer vision, machine learning, object tracking or software development.
Has a M.Sc. in engineering physics, computer science, mathematics or similar.
It is a merit if you have industry or research experience in the above mentioned fields. We see it as a great plus if you have worked with software and/or algorithm development, especially for embedded systems. Previous experience programming in C++ and/or Python is also highly regarded.

To be successful in this role you are driven by mathematical challenges and problem solving, or maybe software architecture is your passion. You enjoy coding and you always ensure that your code is of high quality.
