Ruby Developer

Job Description

Your main concern will be improving our client’s learning platform built using micro services. These are chiefly written in Ruby and connected with REST APIs and ZeroMQ.

Together with your peers, you will be responsible for the technical design, implementation and code quality of the features you're assigned to work on.

Main tasks

Design, code, test, and document ruby applications
Work on every level of the stack - frontend to backend, api's and release automation and everything in between
Review code
Add tests to code and write testable code
Develop tools to automate tasks
Help us scale-up a rapidly growing web application

Experience with Ruby on Rails
Experience with MVC frameworks for web and web development techniques
Experience with JavaScript and CSS
Knowledge of Linux/Unix tools and utilities
Basic knowledge of SQL
Build responsive applications and APIs
Written and spoken English (must be fluent)
Business minded: ability to think about the result, and not only the process

At Avidity we believe software development is made more fun when we work together, so expect a lot of pair programming as well as code reviews by your peers. You'll be responsible for the technical design, implementation and code quality of the features you're assigned to work on. We work on sprints and weekly delivery, and you’ll be expected to manage your own time as well as to get the requirement details to your assigned work direct with the client.

We mostly develop web-based systems, such as a WebRTC video system, a platform for soft skill learning, mobile device development and integration work for existing systems.
