The On-Board Telematics (OBT) is a global department within GTT Vehicle Engineering, established to secure connected vehicles supporting the increasing demand for connected services and in-vehicle entertainment functions, within the Volvo Group. Connectivity is a key enabler for fleet management, uptime services and advanced vehicle services as driver assistance and fuel reduction, targeting reduced costs as well as increased revenues. The telematics and entertainment components build a global platform utilized by the brands within the Volvo Group.
The products developed at GTT have a complex functionality, which is divided into a set of independent E2E (End-to-End) functions. When developing the E2E functions at OBT, we strive for a balance between commonality and brand distinction. This requires careful communication and coordination with different stakeholders such as Product Planning, Brand representatives and other Engineering departments.
OBT department develops and verifies embedded systems that integrate with the vehicle electronic architecture and the telematics back office systems. You will join a tight team of highly skilled engineers, well organized with colleagues in US, Brazil and India.
Backlog owner - Tools and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD)
You will be a part of our Global Product owner team as the Backlog owner for Tools and Continuous Integration. A Backlog owner owns and manages a backlog and lead cross functional teams working in sprints. The Tools and Continuous Integration backlog contains development issues of our build and test environments, optimization of test suites and improvements. You will be responsible to secure that the nightly build and nightly test are up and running 24/7. You will also take the leading role in tooling projects at OBT which are connected to the Backlog - Tools and Continuous Integration. Today we have one team with 6-7 engineers working with this backlog.
The tool chain consists of Jenkins, Git, Jira, BitBucket, Artifactory, CANoe, Robot Framework(Python), Klocwork etc.
