We’re now looking for an outstanding lead for a QA team, working from our office in Stockholm, who knows both how to test in an agile environment and how to lead and motivate a team. You’ll help us make Spotify even better, whether it’s hands on testing, helping your team members to grow or recruiting new testers. You’ll be working with a world-class team of engineers who are passionate about what they do - and we expect no less from you.

The Quality Assistance Team Lead will lead a team of 5-10 testers ranging from pure manual to engineers developing testing frameworks. You will be responsible for the group's operational and strategic work, in a company that continues to grow and develop at a rapid pace. The team lead will peer with other technology team leads and report to an Engineering Director.
You should have an insatiable appetite for learning new things and improving existing ones. If you’re the right one for us, you are passionate and take great pride in your work.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive the quality of Spotify's public API's and SDK's, as well as the platforms that power our TV, stereo and automotive experiences.
  • Understand and appreciate company objectives to ensure they are consistent with team priorities.
  • Lead, develop and scale your team.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external engineers
  • Take part in the delivery process by testing software to stay up to date with methodologies and the product.
  • Evaluate current test procedures and recommend optimizations.
  • Assist in making the software testable.

Requirements

  • Experience leading teams, preferably QA teams
  • Solid experience from testing in an agile software development environment
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills including an ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Ability to analyze crash logs, stack traces and assist engineers by utilizing basic debugging techniques
  • Love of testing things that are hard to test
  • You believe in high quality software and releasing poor quality software is against your nature

You’re located in (or willing to relocate to) Stockholm, Sweden.
