The section Security and Body Electronics is responsible for design, implementation and verification of system and components within Alarm, Remote, Immobilizer, Exterior Light, Visibility, Sound Signalling and Locking systems. The section is a part of Vehicle Software & Electronics within Volvo Car's Product & Quality (P&Q) division. Currently we are approximately 60 employees, organized in four groups.

The group Body Electronics SW today includes 20 persons. We are responsible for development and integration of application SW for Central Electronic Module (CEM), and Vehicle Computational Module (VCU1). The responsibility also includes Software and Diagnostic requirement specifications for these ECU’s. 

Central Electronic Module is a master ECU with many bus systems and high level of electrical interfaces, containing vital functionality such as Vehicle Mode Management, Energy Management, Exterior Light, Locking and Visibility.

Vehicle Computational Module is a multi-functional unit that contains AUTOSAR based SW components developed at Volvo Cars and by external supplier.

We are looking for a Software Developer to strengthen our team. You will work with existing and new functionality in current and upcoming car projects and electrical architectures.
The work as Software Developer means that you establish and develop relationships with System Designers for several functional areas, as well as building an understanding of the system design within those areas. In this position, you will therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Vehicle Software & Electronics and Volvo Car's Product & Quality (P&Q) division.You will work closely to the internal Software Project Leader, SW Integration, SW Testing as well as your team members.

Main Responsibilities:
• Develop software components and applications in MATLAB/Simulink
• Review software requirements specification
• Design and develop unit test specifications and perform unit testing
• Responsible for issue and change management on developed models
• Secure that models are ready in time, updated and released
• Discuss technical solutions with supplier and the internal team
• Support investigations and task force activities

Required Qualifications:
• B.Sc. grade within Electrical, Computer, Engineering Physics or equivalent level of education
• Programming skills in C, C++
• Experience of Simulation and Model-Based Design using MATLAB/ Simulink
• Experience of developing software algorithms and specifications
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• B driving license

Preferred Qualifications:
• M.Sc.in Electrical, Computer or Engineering Physics
• Knowledge in AUTOSAR
• Programming skills in Python
• Knowledge in Automotive Functional Safety Standard ISO26262
• Knowledge in Volvo Product Development System (VPDS)
• Experience from Body & Security or Power Train area
• Experience from software design for automotive
• Agile development processes
