Infrastructure Architect for Platform and Hosting Services

The Group Service Development for Infrastructure Delivery (IUAC) owns and maintains the Hosting Managed Services and Platforms used by delivery teams throughout the organisation in provisioning of solutions to the Scania business functions. The components part of the responsibility include amongst others Operating Systems, databases and application platforms, irrespective of provider and choice of technology.

While traditionally the team has focussed on conventional on premises hosting solutions, today a major shift is taking place towards Cloud, Open Source and use of 3rd party Sourcing Providers.

Scania is now seeking to recruit an Infrastructure Architect with focus on Open Source and JAVA based platforms for our on-premises solutions, to drive our Global IT Strategy forward and to work with our Service Owners, other IT architects and technical experts to secure development, management and control for our current and future services.

Your tasks
You will be the main speaking partner for our Open Source based Platforms in our infrastructure architecture and related technical aspects of our current and new Hosting services for our Global organisation. Main technologies involved today are RH Linux, with initiatives in amongst others Infrastructure as Code, Dockers/Containers, and introduction of Open Source databases. Today our RH Linux environments run our most critical Oracle based applications, where a shift towards AWS and Open Source Database alternatives is imminent.

Based on business needs, our IT Strategy, and new tools and products you will drive the technical aspects of our Service Roadmaps and give direction on the way forward.

Given your broad skills and competence, you will be involved in architecting and designing complex customer specific solutions, as well as participate in key projects.

You will be placed in a challenging environment with ample opportunities for development in coordination, leadership and technology.

You work amongst other will cover:
Develop and maintain the Strategy and Roadmaps for our Linux and Open Source based hosting services, taking our IT Strategy as a main input
Active participation in strategic initiatives around Cloud, Security, VW Group alignment
Involvement in Sourcing Initiatives
Liaise and coordinate on different levels in the organisation to secure technology roadmaps, support funding demands and projects for implementation.
 
Your profile
You have a relevant academic education and experience in the area of work.
You will have in-depth knowledge of current and new IT infrastructure architectures and experience in related products and services.
You possess the seniority to manage uncertainty, set strategies, balance inputs and negotiate results.
You may have worked several years as technical expert in relevant areas for the assignment. You are structured, customer oriented with excellent communication skills, proactive, take initiative and ownership, and have the drive to move our services forward.
You are fluent in Swedish and English, both oral and writing.
