Special Products and Accessories is a “stand-alone” organization within Vehicle Line Management, a fast and nimble organization, where the main mission is to create customized and brand building products, based upon consumer insight, business and market needs. Our role is to be a front-runner and gap filler in Volvo Cars’ brand transformation journey. We create innovative products and services that push Volvo Cars’ brand promises – we understand you, we protect what is important to you, and we make you feel special – to the next level. Special Products & Accessories is organized into four different business areas: Luxury (e.g. XC90/S90 Excellence), Limited Offer (e.g. Volvo Ocean Race Edition), Commercial (e.g. Police Cars), and Accessories.

R&D and Manufacturing department is responsible for all development and manufacturing engineering within Special Products. We are around 140 employees and contractors divided into 6 groups.
We work within almost every area in the car from electrical, interior, exterior, chassis to manufacturing engineering. From innovations, Advanced Engineering, concept studies to industrialisation programs, quality and ratio.

The group Electrical & Electronics is a part of the R&D and Manufacturing department within Special Products & Accessories. The group consists of app. 25 persons. The group responsibility is to develop products and functions within the Electrical area. We are a dynamic team with high pace and experience.

The product portfolio today contains products like Alco guard, seat functions, charging devices, alarm, trailer electronics, illuminations and various electrical accessories. We also work with several new coming products and platforms that drives our brand. One of these areas are within Connectivity. This is an area where we expand rapidly.

We work in close cooperation with our product planning organization to find new ideas and our products significantly contribute to Volvo Cars Business result.

We are now looking for a SW developer

As a Software developer in SP&A department, you will participate in design, development, optimization and verification of software in new platforms. You are a key player in a team, requested deliverables in both concept- and industrialization phase. You will work in close cooperation with our suppliers and their SW development teams and you will work in our own projects with Proof of concepts of new interesting ideas etc. We see a need for an increased in-house software development why we now are looking to reinforce our team. You will have great opportunities to influence the way of working within the area. 

            Qualifications
* M.Sc., B.S.  or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
* Embedded C/C++
* Linux

* Good knowledge of Agile SW development

* bash, git, Gerrit, Jenkins
* Experience of working as SW developer
* A great communicator and excellent corporation skills

* Excellent English skills, verbally and in writing
