Job Description
Together with a dynamic team of entrepreneurs, designers and engineers, you bring a cloud-based, A.I. powered quotation service to market. This service removes the need for small manufacturers to manually estimate the time and cost associated with producing metal components. By helping these customers free up valuable time to focus on work and adding value instead of pushing paper around, which means your work will have a lasting impact on the world of manufacturing.

Your responsibilities
In this role, you will be building a new team, hiring and leading a group of top talents. Through the work you do together, you’ll set the course for the future of Sandvik and their customers. As senior cloud architect, responsibilities include:
- Specifying and designing data models and a scalable infrastructure which enables our A.I. quotation service to be available around the clock to hundreds of thousands of small manufacturing companies around the world.
- Evaluating and undertaking impact analyses on major design options and assess associated risks, which ensure that our cloud infrastructure design balances functional, quality, security and cost requirements.
- Defining, maintaining and managing cloud architecture models and frameworks, including current and future state of the infrastructure and deployment mechanisms.
- Working in close collaboration with Product Management in assessing business strategy and priorities, tuning the cloud infrastructure to meet business goals.

Your skills and qualifications
We expect you to have a BSc or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or other relevant field. As this is a managerial position within CODE, we expect you to have previous experience of hiring and leading development teams using agile development practices. Furthermore, we expect you to:
- Have a deep understanding of modern cloud computing technologies, such as AWS or Azure.
- Have extensive experience of developing loosely coupled, micro-service-driven architectures and associated APIs that enable self-service models to be employed by the various development teams inside Sandvik CODE.
- Have extensive experience of designing data models for massive scaling, including for relational databases and NoSQL databases, such as Apache Cassandra.

We also consider it a great advantage if you have experience working with large, distributed file systems and data stores, such as Hadoop HDFS, and experience with real-time streaming brokers, such as Apache Kafka.

Technology
In this role, you are working with:
- Building core A.I. engines using C++, VTK, OpenCASCADE and ArrayFire
- Using MongoDB, with the option to move to DocumentDB or equivalent
- Writing Service APIs using ExpressJS and common middleware
- React, Redux and ThreeJS and common front-end package managers
