SEED: Procedural Artist
SEED is a new R&D organization within Electronic Arts whose purpose is to explore new technologies and the creative opportunities that they enable for our future games. Our areas of research include, but are not limited to, virtual reality, procedural content generation, deep learning, realistic characters and how we build and render completely new game worlds.

We collaborate with world class teams all across Electronic Arts such as Battlefield, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Star Wars and Dragon Age, as well as the Frostbite Engine team and upcoming new games and IPs.

SEED is expanding its Future Worlds team at our Stockholm office exploring the boundaries of real-time visuals and potential new approaches to how we build & drive content. We are currently focusing on new ways of rendering content, fully interactive game environments, spectacular visuals as well as procedural content workflows.

We are looking for a Procedural Artist - a forward-thinking artist with a strong technical background.

Ideal candidates have a demoscene mentality, are inspired by the fusion of technology and art and want to create amazing visual experiences. Your technical skills match your aesthetic judgment, where you could act as art director for a small creative team and also want to participate in the actual implementation, bringing your artistic vision to life. You are able to rely on new and old ways of ways to solve visual challenges, but as a creative and inventive person you are able to think about alternative ways of creating art.

You will collaborate and work hand-in-hand with rendering and research engineers as well as fellow content creators in Frostbite Labs, providing knowledge of the latest advances and best practices for art creation, and be a key contributor in the realization. We are looking for talented, self-motivated individuals with the capability and drive to build innovative visual experiences, with a strong desire to explore and master new areas of real-time rendering and content creation workflows. We want passionate, creative, communicative and committed people. We also expect our employees to be involved and self-driven, and in return we provide great autonomy and true influence.

What skills does SEED look for?
• Extensive experience and understanding of approaches in a wide range of content creation methods for games or feature films, including modeling, lighting, shading, post-processing, visual effects, and animation.
• Technical skills which are matched with aesthetic judgment.
• Able to act both as an art director for a small creative team and a liaison between art and tech.
• Strong understanding of real-time and offline rendering methods.
• Strong knowledge of modern 2D and 3D packages.
• Must be able to work in a highly collaborative and creative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good to have
• Experience prototyping, and able to quickly sketch out ideas before diving into implementation.
• Experience in developing and exploring new content pipelines.
• Demoscene experience.
• Interest in exploring visual styles inspired by wide variety of mediums
What’s in it for you?
We take care of our staff! In addition to relocation and a competitive compensation package we will offer you:
• Annual bonus
• EA stock
• Flexible work hours
• Occupational pension
• 10 free EA games per year
• Free massages
• A variety of sports activities and health care allowance.
• We have a collective bargain agreement with Unionen and Sveriges Ingenjörer.

We will review applications continuously. Apply online with a resume and cover letter in English. We look forward to receiving your application!
