Application Developer/Consultant

In your function as Application Developer / Consultant, you will be responsible for the analysis, design and configuration of our Descartes product suite for Customs, Transportation management and Routing solutions. You will work as part of international project teams and be part of the EMEA Professional Services organization of Descartes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•      Analyze the process of our clients to determine the optimal fit for our solutions.
•      Define solution proposal.
•      Develop/design the solution.
•      Being part of the test process as well as supporting customer acceptance test.
•      Configure the Descartes solutions based on customer requirements and the Descartes' product suite.
•      You are a central source of advanced application and technical knowledge and will assist other Descartes teams (sales, customer service, operations & R&D).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
This position may require occasional travel. Mainly Europe.

QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•      Minimum 3 years' relevant education from university.    
•      Excellent communication and consultancy skills both verbal and in writing in Swedish and English.
•      Strong knowledge of SQL querying and relational databases
•      Database Development
•      Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle databases
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•      Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of Logistics and Transportation Industry.
•     Experience in documentation and presenting progress reports to customers.
•      XML and XSL (able to make minor enhancements)
•      System Integrations
•      Edifact and XML messaging
•      Basic scripting knowledge (VBS, VBA ...)
•     Preference will be given to candidates that have experience with international logistic operations and in-depth knowledge of customs processes and legislation.
