Software Developer looking to make a difference

We are fifteen people here at the office in Gothenburg, located off the Aveny in a newly-renovated, very bright space on the top floor of our building. The development team consists of eight people. We are responsible for building the tools needed to put substitute teachers in class rooms: an app for substitutes to manage their work on their own terms, a system for schools to place their requests, and internal systems to match and manage the operation. Some of us work remotely and others work remotely part-time. Our ideal candidate can spend most of their work time in the office here in Gothenburg.

We're now looking to hire 1-3 additional developers for the team as we ramp up for new feature development. The right person for the job has a few years of experience, is comfortable working with front-end Javascript frameworks and is open or even experienced working through the entire stack. This person enjoys working independently but can also jump into a team and be productive in a system with many moving parts. We're also open to discussing a position with more junior developers - get in touch and we can talk.

Our systems are built with Ruby on Rails and React.js, hosted on Heroku. You should be comfortable with a Linux system, git and automated testing. You probably already know some Ruby and HTML / CSS / Javascript. We'll fairly soon move from MongoDB to PostgreSQL, so it doesn't hurt if you have some of either in your bag. We also sprinkle with whatever tools we have brought along with us, be it R or GraphQL. It's our system, so it's up to us to pick the tools we use best. We'd love for you to bring some of your own!
