Backend developer

SCM Ventures is an internal startup incubator within Schibsted Classified Media with quite a few successfully ramped up companies in our history. We are an eight developer strong team, many of us with international background, and we're now strengthening the team with one more backend developer. In central Stockholm you'll work in a very experienced, yet extremely downto-earth team that will give you a lot of support but also freedom. The job involves working on our current products as well as being a part of new ones we come up with. Our tech stack has an extensibly proven track record of being scalable and we value clean code just as high as user experience and stability in our launches.

You consider yourself more of an all-around software engineer, having skills and expertise in several different areas from developing backend systems, to hacking on client side JavaScript or even fixing broken Apache/NGINX configuration. Your daily tasks would consist of maintaining existing platform codebase as well as bringing to life new features and other requirements coming from the Product team.

- Linux environment
- fluent in spoken and written English
- collaborative, team focused and independent at the same time

Plus if you have experience within any of the:

- JAVA (Android)
- Objective-C
- Chef (or other IT automation tools)
- Linux networking

SCM Ventures is a Stockholm based subsidiary of Schibsted Classified Media and Schibsted Media Group.  SCM Ventures' mission is to develop, re-think and export both existing products and concepts in the Schibsted portfolio (such as Blocket.se and Tripwell.com) as well as new concepts. The position is based at our centrally located Stockholm office a stones throw from the central station but Schibsted Classified Media is a truly global group of companies and we collaborate closely with colleagues all around the world on a daily basis.
