Lead Developer

We’re on the lookout for a Lead Developer to join our growing team. The position is ideal for someone who is technology agnostic, extremely driven and most importantly excited about creating beautiful, innovative and impactful things together with a variety of other creative people.

You will head the development department, working closely with other developers, designers, creatives and producers on projects big and small. Your will be responsible for the overall quality of work, the technology decisions made as well as a lot of actual coding. You will be a part of building and developing the department as a whole, sharing knowledge and motivating the team. You will also spend time working on pitches, concepts and idea creation.

What you will be doing:

• Be a part of the concept stage and in developing new ideas.
• Scope projects in pre-production.
• Decide on technologies used for a given project.
• Lead your team. Make sure they deliver quality code, design and user experience.
• Research new technologies and concepts.
• Coding. A lot of coding.

• You are experienced in a wide variety of programming languages and technologies.
• You have experience of working in a diverse set of projects.
• You can jump between everything from creating animations in JavaScript to setting up a server for deployment to writing a killer API.
• Great work ethic and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
• Fluent in English.

Hard facts:

• At least 5+ years of professional experience.
• A portfolio of projects to show.
• Open source projects is a big plus!
• Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Expert knowledge of Python, PHP, Ruby and the likes.
• Expert knowledge of MVC frameworks like AngularJS, EmberJS etc.
• Expert knowledge of server infrastructure, Unix and databases.
• Expert knowledge of networking principles.
• Solid understanding of computer science
• Experience working with frameworks like Django, Laravel, Rails etc.
• Experience working with Node.js
• Experience with lower level languages like C or C++ is a plus.
• Experience with iOS and/or Android is a plus.
