Our client Kindred is one of the largest online gambling companies in the world with over 20 million customers across 100 markets. They are the pioneers in the online gambling industry and as an innovation driven company that builds on trust, they have led the development into areas such as technological advancements, mobile solutions, new product launches, as well as player safety and responsible gambling improvements.
They are searching for that certain someone who is passionate about security and driving change and not satisfied in just identifying exploits and security improvements, but instead likes to understand how they can defend against it and make it happen. You will have a real personal passion for web application security and an insatiable lust to develop within the area.
Part of the journey toward greater security maturity will mean that you will be required to be self-autonomous and confident at developing and drinving continuous improvement projects across all our platforms and brands. As such, you may come from a variety of backgrounds (e.g. Security product owner, Security Architect, IT security engineer, developer etc.).
Finally, they require a real team player. Someone who enjoys teaching (and learning), who enjoys engaging the organisation to be as passionate about security as they are, and who likes to work in a highly collaboratively environment.
What will you be doing?

Work with their Tech department to ensure that their environment is a safe, secure and reliable for their customers by ensuring that the environment is resilient against cyber threats
Serve as a combination of business owner, product owner and architect for web application security and pro-actively identify and suggest new controls to further improve the environment
Own, develop and maintain the roadmap and backlog for security controls and features for the web application part of their platform.
Coordinate and drive activities to ensure that security controls and features are implemented taken from an idea, developed, tested and implemented
Develop monitoring capabilities and KPI’s to improve how they can measure the effectiveness of the security controls

How will you be measured?

Ideally developer/architect background to know how to get things through the development process
High level of networking skills and business acumen to be able to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders
Key interest in the Security domain and ability to pro-actively identify new security controls and features
Ability to take an idea from design to functional description, into the appropriate backlog and ensure that it gets released
Be a good communicator as it will be essential for the role to be able to explain complex security challenges to a wide variety of stakeholders

What have you done?

Knowledgeable in controls for mobiles security, web security and authentication schemas is beneficial
Knowledge in java, javascript, PHP, node.js is a plus
Interest in securing cloud services (e.g AWS) (not mandatory but a plus)
Worked either in, or close to, agile development teams as a developer, architect or product owner
Have good knowledge about threat modelling
Worked in a dynamic and fast moving digital company preferably a B2C
Have a relevant university degree
