Application Manager R&D

This Application Management Services (AMS) group perfoms maintenance activities for applications used by Measure, Calibrate and Diagnostics (MCD) with in R&D which is the center for coordinating and development of mobile MCD tools at Volvo Cars. This includes both HW and SW tools. The group today consists of eleven Application/Service Managers and two Business Analysts. We provide services to several areas within R&D such as Electrical development in car (SW and HW), MCD (Measurement Calibration Diagnostic) and Testlabs.

As an Application Manager R&D you will be the main interface for service deliveries between IT and business within the area of R&D MCD. You will be a key resource to drive the IT applications within MCD forward and also maintain the availability and the security of the service. You will also be responsible for maintenance of a number of applications and for taking over new development activities in the area.

Main responsibilities

* Maintenance (according to VCC Maintenance Model)
* System support to enduser (i.e. installations, fault analysis)
* Supplier management / License manager
* Govern enhancements
* Being a Subject Matter of Expert (SME)

Required qualifications

* IT or Technical university degree
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Experience of working with server-client software running on Windows server environment
* Education or working experience within product development, preferably within the Measure, Calibrate and Diagnostic area is meritorious
* Experience from oracle databases, java code and linux servers would be an asset
* Basic knowledge in Electrical Engineering is meritorious
* ITIL Foundation experience is meritorious
* An asset would be good understanding of Day to Day IT operations
* Ability to understand business demands and requirements together with good knowledge to describe and visualize the IT delivery is meritorious
