The Chipset and Software Technology unit is part of the Systems & Technology organization within Business Area Networks. We are responsible for technology leadership and research in digital technology and software with focus on 5G wireless systems. This is achieved through concept studies, system design, test beds, and driving technical innovation.

We are now looking for a System Designer with a SW developer background and a profile towards open source environment to join the Chipset and Software Technology unit in Lund, Sweden.

You will have the opportunity to work with
•Applying and changing existing cloud technology for future RAN (Radio Access Network) implementation
•Container technologies and container management solutions, virtualization and hypervisors
•Explore how to keep it secure and at the same time give bare metal performance
•How to scale in a cloud virtualized environment compared to existing network solutions of today
•Evaluate 3:rd party solutions and challenge their statements and roadmaps.

Required Competence / Experience
•We believe you have a M.Sc. degree within computer science and have experience of open source development
•Technical education on university level and documented technical leadership skills are required
•Linux, networking, DPDK, SRVIO, OVS
•Git, Python, go, bash, C++
•Kubernetes, Mesos, Docker, Rocket, KVM, XEN,
•Ability to find and drive continuous improvement work
•Good communications skills and a relationship builder
•Fluent in written and spoken English

Position Qualifications

You are confident in solving complex technical questions across organizations as part of a small team. Your contributions span from early feasibility all the way to implementation.

You are analytical, structural and result oriented. You will find creative solutions when lacking information and act outside your formal area of responsibility when needed.

Experience of cloud development with containers and container management, hypervisors and virtualization is meritorious.

As a person you should be self-motivated, positive, and outgoing, a team player with strong analytical skills. You should also have the ability to motivate, coordinate and coach others to success.
