Senior Windows Server Expert for Hosting Platform Service Development

The Group Service Development for Infrastructure Delivery owns and maintains the Hosting Platforms used by delivery teams throughout the Scania organisation in provisioning of IT solutions to the Scania business functions. These services provide application teams with the infrastructural components to develop and install applications for business use. The components part of the Team responsibility include amongst others Operating System, Databases and Web application platforms, irrespective of provider and choice of technology.

To meet the requirements and demands from Scania’s business functions, we need to strengthen the Service Development Group with a Senior Microsoft Windows Expert who will work with our IT Architects, Service Owners and internal customers to secure development, management and control for our current and future infrastructural services around Microsoft Windows Server and related technology.

Scania is actively developing it’s Hosting Services as new technologies comes available, with focus on Open Source and shifting from On-premises to Public Cloud. As such knowledge of AWS, Containers, .NET Core, Linux and other technologies is desirable. Further you will have good skills in MS System Center, Powershell and preferable knowledge of backup solutions such as Networker.

Your tasks
You will develop improved and new functionality around our Windows Server services, securing fast and stable deployments of new server infrastructure, following our technical roadmaps, as well as customer specific developments and deployments. These developments will be both in traditional On-Prem services, but also in AWS Public Cloud.
In this work you will work together with a cross-functional team of other experts, Service Owners and architects.

You work amongst other will cover:

Secure uptime, performance, supportability and security of our Windows Server based hosting service and associated management tools at an overall level.
Work with Microsoft Management tools for building and deployment of servers
Work with Amazon Machine Images for Microsoft Technology
Have full overview of our Windows Server infrastructure, propose developments and improvements on our existing services, considering licenses, infrastructure consumption and capacity management
Documentation of designs and setups, to facilitate knowledge sharing and understanding.
Work with 3rd party Managed Services providers, both on- and off-shore
Collaborate with VW and VW Group companies around standards and strategies for the Group
Occasional involvement in resolution of major incidents affecting our business if such is desired

Your profile
You have a relevant academic education or equivalent work experience in the area of work, in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, tools and products and experience in management of large scale infrastructures.

Preferably you will have knowledge / experience from AWS products and Cloud migrations, especially with regards to Open Source products and have a genuine interest in new technologies. You likely have worked as a Windows Server administrator or technical responsible. Having experience of Agile working is considered a benefit.
You are team-player, structured, customer oriented with good communication skills, proactive, take initiative and ownership, and have the drive to move our services forward.

You are fluent in Swedish and English, both oral and writing.
