Lead Developer @ Vidispine

Video is eating the world. From entertainment to industry, video is found everywhere, and more people than ever create video content. The amount of video created every day put heavy demand on the underlying platforms, while the need to quickly turn your raw content into compelling stories is greater than ever.

AtVidispinewe are currently building a new and exciting cloud-based media service platform calledVidinet. We are now looking for a Lead Developer with backend development skills to lead the development project as well as develop the system backend.

THE POSITION

You will take lead in the development project to ensure delivery of expected scope within expected time at good quality. You will be the ticket manager of the development projects, and report progress and status to the product management team. You will be responsible for good coherence between estimations and actual spending. You will be working with Jira, REST APIs, Java, GIT, SQL, Drop Wizard, Django, AngularJS, Docker and Ubuntu, as well as AWS (EC2, ECS, RDS, S3,CloudFront, Route53). You will be a vital player in a tight team with short decision paths and plenty of room for creativity and implementation of your own ideas and new technologies into the solution.

WHO YOU ARE

You have a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. You have experience from working with structured system development in a team. It is of merit if you have experience in leading development projects or teams. You have a great interest in advanced software, cloud services and scalable solutions. You have good knowledge of object oriented programming (preferably Java) and SQL. It is of merit if you have previously built scalable solutions on AWS. As a person you are a driven, creative problem solver who is happy to take lead to evolve technical solutions in the right direction. As a team player you will quickly be adopted into the tight developer team atVidispine. Furthermore, you thrive in a role where you are expected to pick up new technology quickly, which is also something that attracts you. You have very good knowledge of English.
