Software Support Engineer for Fast Growing Company

In your role as Software Support Engineer, you will be an important member of the Dirac Mobile - Customer Support team. Your main responsibility will be supporting Chinese smartphone manufacturers from our office in Uppsala. Using your troubleshooting and communication skills to help identify software problems on real-case customer projects, you will act as a bridge between our local software support team in China and our software developers in Uppsala.

The position is demanding and challenging, as you will often be working with technical limitations and highly demanding customers, but also creative and rewarding, as your work and ideas will be used by millions of smartphone users worldwide. Our engineering team will help you get settled in your new role, but you will quickly need to become self-sufficient and skilled in our various software packages, both to provide great service to our customers and to help support our Asian software teams with expertise and inspiration.

For this position, the following skills are essential:

- Problem solving -

You need to have a great interest in all things technical and thrive on reproducing bugs and narrowing them down to their fundamentals. You are expected to deal with less complicated issues by yourself, while your role in more complicated issues will be assisting our senior developers by doing the groundwork testing and acquiring relevant information.

- Communication -

You will be in daily contact with our Chinese software support team, gathering and summarizing information to provide our Uppsala based teams with accurate and relevant data so they can make informed and timely decisions in their software development. Time is always of the essence in this industry, so it is crucial that you are an efficient communicator. You will drive the conversation by asking the right questions and forwarding relevant requirements to both the Chinese support team and to our own developers.

- Software Development –

You need previous experience with programming C, C++ and Java as well as working with Git.

In addition, the following skills and experiences are preferred:

- Experience from Android development and AOSP

- Experience from agile development

- Interest in audio technology and music

- Proficiency in Chinese language and/or familiarity with Chinese culture
