Would you like to develop sensor processing solutions enabling fully automated vehicles?

Autonomous Transport Solutions (ATS) Pre-Development & Research, ECP, is responsible for developing, testing and piloting future ATS concepts. This work is done using agile and self-steered teams with the ambition to detect and evaluate upcoming technologies, and prepare these for industrialisation.

The Sensors and Machine Learning group is responsible for the environment sensors and their associated data processing. We are looking to expand the team with a sensor function developer. This role includes developing and testing functionalities in our automated vehicle prototypes as well as monitoring the field to identify the most important developments.
 
Your work duties
The ability to accurately detect and classify the environment surrounding the vehicle is critical to its safe automated operation. Your duties will be develop and test sensor data processing software in our pre-development platform. Key tasks will be to develop support for new sensor technologies and prototype units, design and conduct in-vehicle experiments, and demonstrate the results to stakeholders. This work will be done together with other experts in the team as well as in cooperation with academia and our partners inside and outside the Volkswagen group.
 
Your profile
You are a graduate engineer with several years of documented professional experience in software development, primarily in C and C++. Additionally you are a strong problem-solver seeking a role that includes in-vehicle testing as well as office work. It is beneficial if you have experience from the automotive field and applied research projects. Practical experience with robotics frameworks such as OpenCV/PCL/ROS, and a heavy duty vehicle and/or bus driver license are a plus.
 
Fluent English proficiency is required, as well as ability to speak or willingness to learn Swedish.
