This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (CCDP) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars. 

Job Description

We are looking for a very experienced Solution or Software Architect to be part in driving our journey from a highly outsources development to in-house. We are also widening our scope in terms of technologies from .NET only to a mixed technology setup with both .NET and Open Source Technologies such as Java/Python. The work is situated in our new offices close to Gothenburg City in Gamlestaden but with tight cooperation with our offices in Mountain View, California and Shanghai, China.

Responsibilities
* The overall development practices within the area of Consumer Commercial Digital Products
* Together with the senior DevOps engineer and lead architect decide on the technology standards to be used
* Set the high-level software architecture requirements and secure alignment within the area
Skills
* Design and build applications for web platform Hands-on development and delivery experience with a broad mix of languages and technologies including C#.
* Passion for software engineering and craftsman-like coding prowess
* Experience with architectural design whilst leading and inspiring software development and infrastructure teams.  Lead by example.
* Experience leading development on large, custom-built object-oriented applications
* Great object oriented skills, including strong design patterns knowledge and enterprise integration
* Experience working with agile, lean and/or continuous delivery approaches and practices, such as continuous integration, TDD, BDD, Infrastructure as Code etc.
* Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
* Experience in communicating technical vision at a high and low level
* Ability to influence on a commercial and technical level
* A focus on championing software quality, cross-functional requirements and engendering technical vision
* Ability to ensure appropriate technology choices by understanding the business vision
* Expert, hands-on coding support for your team
* Knowledge and experience of software best practices, like Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD)
* Hands-on experience working closely with Product Owner to realize product vision
* Experience designing innovative, evolutionary architectures
* Experience building, supporting and mentoring effective delivery teams
