Systems Engineer & DBA

Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter: Secana software is a complete solution for card issuers and acquirers that wish to manage card transaction monitoring internally in order to detect and prevent card fraud. The software has a web interface with user as administrator capability. Secana uses rule-based filters to analyze transactions and the software comes with ready-made filter templates. The user can decide which rules are set up in the filters to make them most effective, producing results managed by analysts. With Secana Authorization Assistant, reducing losses by up to 70%. As a Systems Engineer and DBA, you will work onsite at one of our clients to support a customized configuration of our application. You will be studying root causes of slow application performance and performing operations maintenance tasks. There will be an initial intensive one-month training in Oslo, learning the Secana application, learning MQ, Perl and client specific operational procedures. The role requires travel to Oslo 6-8x per year for 2-3 days for training and knowledge exchange. Successful candidates should have combined experience as both a systems and database administrator (Linux & IBM DB2) with an intuitive and curious nature to dig deep, understanding root causes of performance problem by investigating logs and the connections to dependent systems. They should have a willingness to understand existing processes and systems, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to make decisions in consultation with team members and subject matter experts while building relationships at the client, actively participate in teamwork, and understand the dynamics and critical nature of our business. Attention to detail and creativity in problem solving are essential.

Desired technical skills:
Experienced with Linux & UNIX production environments. Developer level UNIX/Linux knowledge.
Experienced Linux Systems Administration.
Advanced DBA experience for DB2 on AS/400.
IT networking experience including firewalls and working with ports.
Requirements gathering and identification of dependencies including operations, networks, hardware and external entities. Communication & coordination with internal / external groups and operations. .
Document work & procedures for follow-up and maintenance. . Programming and Software development skills are a plus (Perl, Shell, Java, etc). .
Experience with IBM WebSphere or Active MQ is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science. (Electrical Engineering preferred) .
Excellent English both written and verbal.
Pro-active, curious and investigative mindset.
Strong willingness to learn new skills and technologies.
5-8 years related experience
