Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer with Ooyala AdTech you will work in a cross discipline dev-ops team, where you and your team members with take ownership of a segment of our product. You will act as an authority on front-end development in your team driving the UI development there as well as being part of the cross team UI Chapter working on joint projects and help to continually evolving UI development as a whole.

Responsibilities
- Work in close collaboration with UI/UX designers and backend engineers to build beautiful, snappy and usable UIs.

- Share ownership and collaborate closely with fellow engineers in an autonomous, cross-functional full-stack team.

- Help your fellow team members to grow as engineers through code review, pairing, and mentoring.

- Participate in the design and implementation of the joint JavaScript infrastructure and resources that are core for all our UI development.

Solid understanding of modern JavaScript programming concepts such as Object Oriented and Functional Programming.

You have experience with client side JS frameworks like React, Angular, Backbone, e.t.c.

You have a firm grasp of the latest HTML, CSS and JavaScript standards and browser implementations

You have a good eye for design and always pay attention to the user experience of the product

You're familiar with REST APIs and the concepts of a RESTful architecture

You handle complexity by keeping things simple and elegant.

You like to learn new things, mentor and share knowledge with team members.

You have good understanding of system design, data structures and algorithms.

Experience with modern JavaScript workflow tools e.g. NPM, ESLint, Gulp, Webpack / JSPM

Testing experience with e.g. Mocha, Jasmine, Karma, Selenium, Nightwatch

Bonus Points
- Experience with NodeJS server development

- Experience with universal JavaScript and server-side rendering.

- You contribute to open source projects.

- Experience with backend development using Java
