The work environment at Scania’s IT department is international and our employees are representing many different nationalities and countries. To this exciting and dynamic environment we are now looking for an architect to lead Scania into the digitalisation era with focus on CAD/vPDM.

Your responsibility
You will be a part of the management team responsible for architectural strategies and policies. Application landscape consists of software from Dassault Systèmes supporting design, simulation, manufacturing planning and technical documentation of our products. Our applications are integrated to other systems and applications. Previous knowledge of application integration is of importance.

We work close to our customers and are involved in the entire system development process, from concept development to implementation and production. The team is responsible for early phases of projects in our current and future CAD/vPDM platform. You will play a central role in our early concepts and will have many contacts around the Scania organisation. As an architect you will be involved in understanding requirements and come up with suggestions for architectural designs to be implemented. Together with the other teams, you will work in close cooperation with product and process owners on issues relating to functional guidelines – in both the short and long term.

We are looking for a senior IT/engineering graduate with a several years’ experience of architecture and system integration. You will have a strong interest in modern system development in agile contexts and use methods such as Scrum or Kanban. You need to be proficient in written and spoken English, since it’s our corporate language.

We expect that you will also have skills to:

Convert needs to realizable requirements
Act as a mentor regarding the technical implementation of a particular solution
Drive and design technical implementation both in maintenance and upgrade projects
Actively participate and implement improvements
Commitment and motivation to work with agile methods e.g. Design Sprint

We also expect that you will also have technical skills:

Good knowledge of object-oriented technologies C++
Good knowledge of Java Technologies
Good Knowledge of CAD/vPDM, preferably Dassault Systèmes (3DExperience, Enovia, Catia, and Delmia)
Knowledge of Oracle databases

As a person, you will be results-oriented, organised and have good planning skills. You have detailed technical knowledge but also have the ability to think strategically.  You view continuous improvement as part of your daily work. You will also have good cooperative and communication skills as you will work closely with both business and developer teams. It is also important that you are able to take the initiative and work independently.
 
The location
Scania headquarter is located less than 40 km south of Stockholm city. It is easily accessible by regional train, commuter train, bus or car. Scania's own bus line, Scania Job Express, goes from Stockholm city directly to Scania in Sodertalje.
