Site Reliability Engineer to Democratize Digital Manufacturing

As we strive towards shaping the way industrial companies take on digital transformation, we’re looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join us at Sandvik CODE in Stockholm.

Job Description

In this position, you take part in designing true reliable digital solutions for our customers; the small and medium sized industrial companies that make up the backbone of manufacturing. These companies have a history of unmet needs with regards to digital, efficient solutions. Our mission is to step in and start helping them in their digital journey, by solving problems that enable these customers to free up valuable time to focus on the work that truly matters to them.

Your responsibilities

• Ensuring that the CODE service portfolio offers the availability, latency performance and efficiency required by our customers
• Change management with regards to the CODE approach on site reliability, including emergency response and capacity planning
• Helping our teams design and build resilient solutions with CI pipelines, automated testing, repeatable builds and chaos engineering
• Mentoring, supporting and pairing programs with junior engineers to help spread knowledge and best practices throughout Sandvik CODE

Your skills and qualifications

You have a BSc.or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent field, and as our team at Sandvik CODE is truly international, we expect you to have excellent communication skills in English. Other requirements for this positions are:

• A deep understanding of data structures, algorithms and modern cloud computing system design using modern technologies, such as AWS or Azure
• Extensive experience from developing loosely coupled, micro-service-driven architectures and associated APIs that enable self-service models to be employed by the various development teams inside Sandvik CODE
• Extensive knowledge from designing data models for massive scaling, including for relational databases and NoSWL databases, such as Apache Cassandra or equivalent

Other skills that are advantageous for this role are:

• Experience working with large, distributed file systems and data stores, such as Hadoop HDFS or equivalent
• Experience with real-time streaming brokers, such as Apache Kafka or equivalent
