DevOps Manager for building new team

Vizrt are seeking to add a seasoned DevOps leader with experience scaling services that have been demanding in terms of real-world traffic & throughput to their growing team. Vizrt is growing their DevOps organisation to be able to improve incident management & helping customers turn downtime into a great customer experience.

The DevOps Manager is responsible for overseeing the deployment and support of systems in development, QA, UAT, Performance and Production environments. The team’s duties will include monitoring systems, identifying and resolving operational issues, research, development, deployment and maintenance of production applications. In close collaboration with the Product Development and support teams, the DevOps Manager will develop the operational architecture of mission critical software products and automate the support and deployment processes.
The role includes:
• Manage and mentor DevOps Engineers by providing direction, developmental opportunities,
and performance feedback
• Partner with Product Development Managers to provide operational environment expertise
• Lead efforts to identify and build out necessary development, QA, and production
environments
• Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, applications, and software
• Actively monitor system operations to maintain good system health, including
application/system up time and remote diagnostics
• Drive continuous improvement within Scrum team by focusing on engineering excellence
• Drive strategic initiatives associated with DevOps in close collaboration with
Product Development

• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
- Jenkins, Cruise Control, Maven, Ant, Selenium, etc.
• Extensive experience with writing automation scripts for SCM tools like GIT, SVN etc.
• Experience in deployment and configuration management tools, such as Chef and Puppet
• Knowledge and use of virtualization and containerization desirable
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience and good understanding of database skills (Oracle, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server)
• Experience with Certificate renewals/integrations on multiple application severs like
Tomcat and WebSphere
• Good understanding of risk issues and prevention of risk/cyber related incident
• Experience with Agile/Scrum
• Team Building Experience
• Awareness of Emerging Technologies
• Experience managing a highly available web servers with a focus on configuration,
maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Expertise in Web configurations, caching, and content delivery networks
• Background with the scalable and open source architecture
• Have previous been building up a DevOps organisation
• Knowledge of SaaS, mobile, digitalisation, transformation and change management
• Experience managing and building multicultural and multi-interdisciplinary teams
• Self motivated decision maker with strong delivery focus and ability to inspire and
motivate others.
• Ability to work and influence at all levels
• Ability to work in an international environment. Able and willing to travel as required.
