Backend developer

Pingdom, with more than 700,000 customers, offers a web service that our customers require to work perfectly around the clock, all year round. We’re technically facing challenges similar to those at Facebook and Twitter, since our systems collect over 400 million results every day. These are to be processed, analyzed and stored.

As Backend Developer in our development team, you’ll get a lot of freedom to try new techniques in a variety of environments. Here you and your team have the opportunity to participate in the entire development process, from concept development of prototypes to the development, implementation and deployment. Together with your colleagues you will explore the future of products with incredibly high scalability.

We believe you’re an unconventional and curious person who can find solutions where others stalled. We work with Scrum and communication and documentation are fundamental elements that must work smoothly between team members. Therefore, it’s important that you are comfortable with this way of working.

You have experience in web development and distributed systems. You also have some experience with databases, such as SQL or MongoDB, and are probably used to working with Linux. You may even have tried PHP or Java. Most important, however, is that you’re outstanding in Python.

For you, the team is as important as the individual. You also have the ability to both focus on the task and have an overall perspective. Your engine is never difficult to start and working in a fast growing company encourages you.
