Test Engineer, Verification base tech-Software Download

The department Electrical Systems Design  is responsible for the entire electrical system. Electrical Systems Design consists of seven sections and the group Analysis and Verification base tech is a part of the section System Verification, which is responsible for testing all base technologies in the electrical platform. Base tech testing implies both integration and system testing. In integration testing we verify compatibility between ECU hardware and ECU software, whereas system testing involves the complete vehicle such as SWDL - Software download, diagnostics and gateway communication etc. within the vehicle's electrical system.

Main responsibilities

Working with SWDL testing means that you establish and develop relationships with designers within almost all system areas, hence you will be working in all Volvo car projects.

In this position you will therefore build and maintain a wide personal network within Research and development department. As a part of our team, you get access to long term development opportunities in a dynamic and continuously growing field, where you have a strong direct influence on customer satisfaction. You will monitor progress in the tests and you summarize the results to your team members and to the car projects.

Required qualifications

 
* M.Sc or B.Sc. within Computer science, Electronics, Physics, Mechatronic or equivalent
* Understanding of software system testing is meritorious
* Experience in SWDL concept and automotive industry is highly appreciated
* Experience of one or several tools such as: Vector tool CANalyzer and CANoe
* Experience in programming languages such as C/C++ and Python/Bash/CAPL is needed
* Experience of analyzing Canoe/canalyzer log files and wire sharks log files
* Certified by “International Software Testing Qualifications Board” (ISTQB) is meritorious
* Basics knowledge in base tech areas: NM, Diagnostics, Communication such as CAN, FlexRay, LIN, Ethernet, LVDS
* Experience within Volvo Cars are beneficial
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driving license “B”

We are looking for curious person, hungry to learn new skills and challenged by new technology. You should be structured and organized with a positive attitude. Excellent communication skills and being a strong team player are strongly desired, as well as being pro-active and very much self-driven, with the confidence and ability to work also independently.
