One of the first beamlines at MAX IV will be the macromolecular crystallography (MX) beamline BioMAX. BioMAX will use the unique properties of the MAX IV 3 GeV ring to become a world leading MX beamline with a high degree of automation, microfocus capability, highly parallel beam suitable for large molecular assemblies, high flux, high level of software support and a user friendly environment.
The BioMAX beam line is involved in a software collaboration for the automated experiments which involves 7 facilities. A new project is starting which involves using new web technologies to re-produce the existing functionality of the python/Qt3 interface. The current application has a rich functionality and can be used to drive the instrumentation for the experiment, including live interactive camera displays, data base interaction and remote access among many other features. This post is mainly concerned with this project.

Arbetsuppgifter
-Analyse and learn the existing infrastructure and document the use cases, workflows and features.
- Work on the design of the new mxCuBE software infrastructure, taking into account the results of the analysis on use cases, workflows and features. This design should take into account the MAX IV common standards and agreed common interfaces with other collaborating partners. It includes all the parts needed for running the beam line, some of which will be common for all MAX IV beam lines.
- Take part in frequent video conference collaboration meetings with other institutes and Controls group meetings.
- Be involved in Controls Software Infrastructure

Önskvärda kvalifikationer
You have experience with both front end and back end development. You need to know python and have worked with back end frameworks such as flask, tornado or django. Linux experience is mandatory. Database knowledge is desirable. Front end experience of Javascript, CSS, html is also required. It is an advantage to have used any technologies such as React, JQuery, bootstrap, SSE and web sockets. Graphic design experience is also desirable.
You have a minimum of two years professional work experience. You have a demonstrated ability to work within an agile team and are goal oriented.
