Web Developer

Avalanche Studios and its subsidiary Expansive Worlds are looking for an skilled and passionate Web Developer to support our marketing team working on our self-published titles, including theHunter Classic, theHunter: Call of the Wild, as well as future titles.

The Position
As a frontend/web developer at Avalanche Studios you will take an important role in developing and driving the web platform built around all our self-published titles. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who dreams about working in the games industry and wants to be part of a young, modern and flexible organisation.
You are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our website, creating new features relying on the front-end/back-end and gather metrics and data about the games. Another important aspect of this role is creating and managing our Business Intelligence and analytics solutions, crafting and executing queries upon request for data as well as presenting information through reports and visualization.
Additionally you will have a key role in the continued integration of web based features within our current and future games. You will have the chance to influence our games with your own ideas, and we believe that it will be to your advantage if you are passionate about games.

Required Qualifications

2+ years professional experience as a front end web developer
Be able to integrate web pages against custom backends (through rest apis)
Solid knowledge of Search Engine Optimizations
Solid knowledge of integrating Google AdWords and similar user acquisition tools
Experience creating marketing/campaign pages given a set design
Expert knowledge of HTML/CSS and javascript in the browser
Solid understanding of HTTP, browser environments and web performance
Documented experience working with single page web applications
Experience from at least one popular web application framework like Angular, Vue.js or Backbone.js
Working with version control software (perforce, git)

Desired Qualifications

Keen interest playing games of different genres
Experience working with Webpack
Experience working with test driven front end development.
Experience working with Cloud Services
Experience working with static page generators (Hugo or similar)
Knowledge of Python or other scripting/programming languages
Experience working with both SQL and NOSQL databases
Experience working with Google BigQuery
