PHP Developer

We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious PHP developer who can help bring Academic Positions to the next level.

About the position

As web developer at Academic Positions, you will be working together with a team of two other developers, with plenty of creative freedom and have the ability to shape the technology stack used. 

We think you are a developer whose interest extends from backend to frontend and is comfortable working with the presentation and data layers. You are passionate about modern web development and problem-solving. 

We are an organically growing company with high aspirations. Given the nature of the position, being self-motivated and self-sustaining are highly valuable characteristics.

To fit in this role, you must be structured, analytical and have the ability to think one step further. You are quick to learn and motivated by new challenges and opportunities.

Required skills

• Object-oriented modern PHP (Symfony2, Laravel, CodeIgniter or any other major framework)
  
• JavaScript (primarily jQuery)
  
• HTML5 and semantic markup
  
• SASS (SCSS) and build tools (NPM, Gulp or Grunt)
  
• MySQL, SQL and database management
  
• Experience working with Git
  
• Experience with building and maintaining large websites
  
• Experience with creating responsive websites
  
• Experience with managing Linux servers (Apache/Nginx)
  

Desired skills

• Experience writing unit and integration tests (PHPUnit)
• Experience working with Memcached and Redis
  
• Experience working with Amazon WebServices (S3)
  
• Experience with working agile (Scrum/Kanban) with tools such as Jira or Trello
  
• Experience with SEO
