About the job

The aim of the job is to build big data infrastructure, optimize and maintain complex datasets from existing and new data sources within Saint-Gobain construction products business. Data at hand can be customer data, digital / offline marketing data, financial records, manufacturing data from our plants and other relevant 1st and 3rd party data. You will work in newly build Regional Digital Solutions team that is responsible for digital transformation within Saint-Gobain Construction products drawing the company’s strategy for digital data development. The Big Data Architect will report to CDO of Saint-Gobain Construction products in the region, just below the regions General Delegate, and will have a digital team of experts within data analytics, marcom tools, PIM, CRM, etc.

Main responsibilities

 Design Saint-Gobain´s construction products big data architecture/infrastructure.
Define how data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by data entities and IT systems, as well as applications using or processing this data in some way
Outline high level integrated designs to meet strategic data requirements
You will be partner to the businesses, and align with the enterprise strategy and related digital transformation program
You will be expected to set data architecture principles, create models that enable the implementation, and create an inventory of the data needed to implement the architecture in order to achieve the digital transformation vision of the region.

Required qualifications

BSc in Computer Science or relevant field
Previous work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
Must be able to develop creative solutions to business problems through data
Must be able to communicate in an excellent English on management level
In-depth understanding of database structure principles
Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
Knowledge of C and PHP languages
Expertise in SQL
Proficiency in MS Excel
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Qlikview, D3.js and R)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building data lake is a plus
Experience in Oracle is a plus
Experience in Dataiku is a plus
A good knowledge in of the Nordic or Baltic languages is a plus

Others

Must be able to travel within the Nordics and Baltics on a regular basis and occasionally the rest of Europe (typically Paris).
