Software Team Leader

The section Engine Controls & Calibration within Complete Powertrain has the main purpose to develop mechatronic control system strategies to deliver refined engine characteristics for all Volvo Cars Petrol and Diesel engines. Our control systems have the most critical core functionality developed in-house at Volvo Car Group. All merged for excellent controls performance and the very best driving experience. Besides the product oriented technical development we have a strong drive to continuously refine tools and methods for the most efficient work approach. Increasingly high portion of our SW is in-house developed.

As a Software Team Leader you will be responsible to coordinate the SW model development and manage coordinated SW releases to our vehicle projects. You will develop and maintain the time plan for the development team and be responsible for the follow-up. You will act as a coordinator in this field and develop a broad network between the section and units within R&D.

Main responsibilities

* Participate in planning meeting and in the review of the Software Requirement Specification
* Ensure requirements are implemented and tested by establishing a requirement traceability matrix
* Administrate change requests allocated to the development team to ensure that all issues are addressed
* Assess change requests with regards to timing impact
* Monitor the resource consumption of the software that the development team produces
* Ensure that all intended work products are delivered by the development team
* Ensure that all intended reviews/tests are completed and documented

Required qualifications

* Master degree or equivalent within relevant field
* 3-5 years of working experience within relevant field
* Project Management skills
* Software development experience
* Understanding of principles behind change and configuration management
* Experience of planning and distributing tasks
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* ISO26262 and/or SPICE know-how is meritorious
