Right now, we are looking for a passionate DevOps to join our Dev Team in Stockholm, Oslo or Leipzig!

What is it like to work at Mynewsdesk?

We offer a workplace where the development teams are working in close collaboration with product managers, designers and our new data platform. We share our knowledge and interests in cross-team meetings, internal conferences and lunch presentations. We love to learn and that’s why we cross-team chapter-groups, regular lab days and DevCorners all year round.

What's our stack?

We are currently running our Apps on in different systems such as Heroku, AWS or Linux Servers. Our applications are also using Solr, Apache Spark(Scala), Redis, Postgres, Mysql, ElasticSearch, Mongodb and many more. We use continues deploying.

Our backend applications are mainly built by Ruby, but we have substantial part written in Java and server-less development are using javascript.

Goals as working as a DevOps on Mynewsdesk

• Increase uptime scoring
• Improve developer happiness in the dev-teams (through systems, tools, processes and/or documentation)
• Improve overall platforms performance
• Harmonize and simplify platform

Some of the things you will do

• Work very closely with our dev teams to understand, design and develop solutions that fits our architecture needs for both internal and external use according to our overall strategy
• Organize our infrastructure resources in our cloud environment
• Ensure we have a process and keep our libraries and vendor dependencies up to date
• Monitor usage of our services, detect and fix bottlenecks
• Ensure our architecture documentation are up to date and supports our dev-teams
• Report to CTO

That is you!

• You have great documentation skills and are able to be meaningful and clear with a light tone of voice
• You are able to communicate and coach dev-teams in introducing new technology and processes
• You are supportive and a people person
• You are always looking into new technologies and learn beyond your current set of expertise
• You’re a doer that loves to get your hands dirty and getting things done
• You are fluent in English, both in writing and speech since it is our working language
• You are used to programming languages and tools such as Ruby, Rails, Java, Python, Bash or Javascript
• You have experience of database and database optimization/setup
• You have experience as a Linux server administrator
• You have experience of working with AWS Cloud and/or Heroku

Nice to haves!

• You have experience with serverless framework or similar
• You are an AWS Certified Solution Architect or DevOps Engineer
• You know how to write Cloudformation Stacks
