Data Engineer

For our team Data Platform, part of the unit Analytics & AI, we are now looking for a driven and curious Data Engineer to further support our mission to create, develop, and make data available to the company – in one single version of truth, with scalable platforms that grows with the company.  

Who are we?

Our Data Platform team consists of approx. 10 experts and developers. Team responsibilities include:
* Information Architecture (Modelling, Lifecycle Mgmt, Data definitions, Quality)
* Data Engineering (Data ingestion, pipe, preparation, operations, and ETLs)
* Analytics Infrastructure (Data lake, Cloud Development, Tools, etc)
* Data Privacy.

What does a Data Engineer do?

Together with the team you are central in developing and maintaining our data platform by continuously identify and implement internal process improvements; eg. automating manual processes, optimize data delivery, refactor infrastructure to improve scalability and cost effiency etc.

The daily tasks includes:
* Implement and maintain our data pipeline architecture
* Design, prepare and expose large scale datasets based on actual business needs
* Build and maintain tools to create actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders such as analysts, data scientists and others
* Implement and operationalize statistical models in close cooperation with our Data Scientists
* Work together with internal and external stakeholders to assist with data related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

We are looking for someone with:
* At least 3 years relevant education at University level
* Strong understanding of Data lake concepts
* Experience from building Data ingestion pipelines and ETL processing, including low-latency data acquisition and stream processing, preferably with ingestion tools from Talend
* Strong experience of Hadoop ecosystem technologies (e.g.: HIVE), message bus and broker technologies, real-time data pipeline and streaming technologies (e.g.: Kafka, Talend), high-performance data processing platforms (e.g.: SPARK), scripting languages and related libraries (e.g.: Python/Pandas) and computing platforms (e.g.: AWS, Azure, UNIX), SQL / RDBMS technologies
* Experience in building highly scalable systems and able to build Java based microservices, build libraries for API based integration between different technologies
* Worked closely with data scientist for data modelling, database design and the design of non-relational data structures
* Distributed, parallel, virtualised and Cloud computing platforms and their design, configuration and optimization
* Experience of working with agile methods, devops and testing / QA
* Experience of working with AWS.
