Software Platform Developer

Within the area of Core Technology Electrics & Electronic Platform we are looking for a person to work with the development of the software platform and have the drive and the passion to contribute to great teamwork to meet future challenges.

In our department, Software Platform, we develops and maintains the base software and common functions (Software Platforms) which is used in a majority of Volvo CE products such as for example Wheel loaders, Haulers, Excavators and Pavers. 

As a Software Developer you will join a team of 13 skilled developers. The software platforms are written in C and C++ and some part is generated from script tool as Python. The platforms are used by our Product Platform (e.g. Wheel-Loaders, Haulers) to run their application software which is mainly developed with model based tool such as Rubus ICE and Matlab/Simulink.

Job tasks, example
Create and refine software requirements and design
Develop new functions (i.e. device drivers, protocol) and features (C, C++ code and Python scripts)
Implement and test new functions in the platform
Work cross functionally with other departments to design and secure the very best machine functionality
Support users of the software platform within our global organization

Experience and Qualifications
Masters or Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer science or Software Development
Previous work experience in software development for Electronic/Embedded Systems
Skilled in C, C++, Python and XML
Basic hardware knowledge required in order to configure ECU's, carry out I/O-testing etc.
Experience of working with requirements, documentation and module test
Experience of working in Automotive or Train industry is beneficial
Enjoy working in a cross functional, international environment
Eager to learn and work with your own and the team's development
Fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken)
