Game Designer

About the role
As a mathematical game designer you will be a vital part of the product team. Your main focus initially will be to calculate statistics and answer queries about the company’s games. Among other things you will calculate the pay distribution, odds and contribution of features and the games’ volatility. You will gather and use data to particulate in team brainstorming sessions to evaluate and refine new ideas. You will use Excel and software simulations to classify and critique games. You will provide specifications to programmers implementing the game and be available to questions and solve problems of a mathematical nature.

Qualifications
• University degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science or other related subject
• Background in probability and statistics, particularly knowledge of combinatorics and Markov chains
• Good programming skills, preferably in Java or other object-oriented language
• An interest in making slot machines fun and exciting
• Excellent problem solver
• Great English skills, written and spoken

Additional Preferred Experience
• Passionate about video games, gaming, and slot machines in particular
• Experience working as part of a large project (involving multiple people)
• 1+ years designing mathematical models for slot games.
• Knowledge of the gambling industry
