Senior Data Scientist

The role

Greenbyte are currently building an advanced SaaS solution for industrial-scale production of electricity from wind and solar energy. Their services are performance-critical for customers and enable the production of even more energy out of existing assets. In the long run, the increase in profitability leads to more renewable energy being invested in and built, on a global scale!

More renewable energy and a sustainable world are what Greenbyte are all about, even when they are diving deep into complex technical discussions. The service itself is a modern web application served by a fleet of microservices, where huge amounts of data is received in real-time, processed, cached, transformed and presented to Greenbyte’s customers in order to support complex decision-making.

Tasks:

- Help Greenbyte form our long-term research and data science strategy
- Collaborate with the product department in order to refine and define how to build insights that will answer the customers’ complex questions
- Derive insights from data, and build prototypes that deliver them
- Explore our data and product, in order to find new, unanswered, questions

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist on behalf of Greenbyte, who will help form their long-term research and data science strategy.

Education

- MSc. in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or applicable engineering field
Professional experience

- 4+ years of documented professional data science experience
- Proven track record of implementing machine learning features full cycle
- Proven track record of implementing statistical models and features full cycle
- Proven track record of researching and developing forecasting and optimisation methods from an existing data set
- Proven track record of translating business vision into data science insights
- 3+ years of experience labelling, clustering and analysing data for data science purposes
- 3+ years of experience in working with a leading framework for machine learning (Pytorch, TensorFlow, MXNet, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience in working with statistical software (R, Julia, Matlab, pandas)
- 2+ years of experience in working with data languages (SQL, etc.)
- 2+ years of collaborating with software engineers in realising features in data science from start to finish

Extra Pluses

- 2+ Experience with machine learning development environments (Jupyter, PyCharm, etc.)
- Data pipeline design experience
- Technical data throughput optimisation
- GPU optimisation
