This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (CCDP) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There’s no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult – it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually using a new car. That is our mission. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars.
As a frontend developer, you will be working in a team of 5-6 people to develop and create frontend applications for consumer facing products and e-commerce solutions available in more than 80 countries. Your responsibilities also include rapid development of prototypes/concepts along with regular development. Initially, we are starting with a small team to create and test concepts and transform these ideas to real products. Apart from that, we are working on delivering new products that give us competitive advantage in our markets.
This position is located in Volvo’s new Stockholm Software Technology Centre in central Stockholm.
You would contribute your experience with regards to agile development and a champion of software development best practices. You will be a part of a team to connect front and back end services together, develop the user interfaces using newest technologies (React for Javascript application development), work in an environment that ensures your career growth and finally you will be there to advocate and contribute to our engineering culture.
This position is located in Volvo’s new Stockholm Software Technology Centre in central Stockholm.
Who you are:
You will be involved in working with modern Javascript technologies and have worked with React regularly in your projects. You would know how to build optimal, user-friendly and data-driven frontend applications as well as how to test and validate frontend Javascript applications. You would also likely have a computer science degree or similar with about 6 years of work experience developing full-stak/frontend software.You have been involved in working with UX teams and backend engineers to develop the UI application. There is an understanding of fundamentals of software engineering and design. You care about testing your application and have been involved in continuous integration and delivery of the work. You have worked with some of the backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, PHP or Python
How you will contribute:
You would contribute your strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns. You would also provide your expertise and experience in developing consumer-facing products along with Agile methodologies.
