This role is within our Consumer Commercial Digital Products (CCDP) team, which is using digital technologies to reinvent the experience of becoming a Volvo customer. There’s no reason the experience of buying a car should be painful and difficult – it should be as enjoyable and exciting as actually using a new car. That is our mission. This is a rapidly growing team, and we are looking for outstanding people who will be some of the earliest hires in their function, helping to establish it at Volvo Cars. 

As a Chapter Coach/Manager, you will be managing a team of 5-6 frontend/full-stack developers that operate in 2-3 different cross-functional teams.

These teams are responsible for consumer facing products and e-commerce solutions available in more than 80 countries. The role is hands-on and you are expected to mentor your team, both technically and career wise.

These responsibilities also include rapid development of prototypes/concepts along with regular development. Initially, we are starting with a small team to create, test concepts and transform these ideas to real products. You would be experienced with agile development and a champion of software development best practices.

This position is located in Volvo’s new Stockholm Software Technology Centre in central Stockholm.
 
Who you are:
You are a experienced frontend software engineer, designing and writing code, and have been a technical lead for your team(s). You will be managing people, including work culture, employee on-boarding, performance assessment and personal growth of your Chapter. You are passionate about frontend and have extensive experience in designing and working with frontend stacks. You would also know how to build optimal, user-friendly and data-driven frontend applications and test them using the newest frontend technologies (we use React). There should be an understanding of Service Oriented Architectures as well as working with some of the backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, PHP or Python. You will also be heavily involved in technical interviewing and hiring to build highly functioning software development teams
 
How you will contribute:

You should have a minimum 6 years’ work experience developing full-stack/frontend software.  You will contribute your strong management ability along with software design skills and knowledge of design patterns. You will also provide your expertise and experience in developing consumer-facing products as well as Agile methodologies.
