Software Engineer 3D to Aveva

Reporting directly to the Team Lead the job holder will work within a team of software engineers to develop and support AVEVA's industry leading 2D and 3D software applications.
The Software Engineer is responsible for implementing high quality software components in accordance with project requirements and overall system architecture following AVEVA’s business and technology strategy.

Contributing towards innovative design against challenging user and performance requirementsEnsuring design proposals are reviewed and approved by appropriate review authorities at each stage of the implementation and its evolutionProviding prototypes where appropriate to explore and verify design proposalsImplementing approved designs and ensuring adherence to product quality and acceptance criteriaEnsuring all code is fully unit tested and documentedCollaborating with team members on detailed work breakdown and estimating within the Agile/Scrum frameworkTimely identification and communication of technical issues and risksUndertaking the administration and resolution of support and maintenance issuesDelivery of systems that exceed customer expectations and achieve the highest qualityReporting progress to the Team Lead/Scrum Master
Experience required
Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or numerate subjectAt least 2 years' experience of developing professional software applications using C++ and C# in the Windows .NET environmentKnowledge and experience of object oriented design and developmentLogical and numerate, with complex problem-solving skillsTeam worker with proactive approachGood verbal and written communication skills

Skilled in use of Visual Studio development environmentKnowledge of Windows architecture, including WPF and WCFKnowledge of complete software development lifecycle, preferably agile development methodology (e.g. Scrum)Experience of developing 3D graphical applications in OpenGL / DirectXKnowledge of computational geometry and programming design pattern fundamentalsExperience of task based, multi-site configuration management, e.g. TFSUser Interface and User Experience design skillsPresentation and product demonstration skills
