About the role:

With a software focus, the individual in this position is responsible for developing solutions ensuring safe and reliable system performance. This requires understanding software design and development, overall system architecture and behaviour. Theoretical understanding of Kalman filters and preferably rigid body mechanics (3D transformations of speed and acceleration) is required as well as documented experience with MATLAB simulations.

The tasks of the software engineer is to develop and maintain new or existing software products by formalizing SW requirements into design and implementation. The responsibilities also include debugging, reviewing and testing of code, hence knowledge in software test methodologies and tools is desirable.

In addition, the establishment of safety-related documentation is part of the work scope, such as developing and maintaining software design documentation. Additional tasks might be allocated according to the individual skills of the SW Engineer and current company requirements.

Your Responsibilities

- Identification of stakeholder requirements

- Software design and implementation, including simulations

- Software verification

- Documentation and Configuration Management according to BT processes and tools

- Choice of design and functionality to meet customer and safety requirements

- Choice of functional decomposition and algorithms

- Interfaces used towards internal and external entities.

- Evaluation of non-conformities

Your profile

- Bachelor’s degree or M.S. in Computer Science or related field

- Minimum 5 years experience within software engineering

- Familiarity with various operating systems (Linux, Windows, VX Works)

- Good knowledge of and experience with general IT tools (MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Visio, Primavera)

Qualifications

- Documented experience in modelling and simulation (model based development)
- Experience with software development in a real-time, distributed, safe and fault-tolerant systems

- Experience and knowledge in C and/or C++

- Experience with specification and documentation of complex technical systems

- Experience from safety critical development according to processes and standards

- Problem solving abilities and creative thinking

- Flexible - ability to adapt to changing priorities

- Ability to work independently

- Good command of the English language
