At the moment we are looking for the right person to fill an opening as a senior Backend Developer to our Video Hosting Systems team. In this role you will have the pleasure to develop software products that will offer our customers video surveillance services and video hosting in the cloud.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Backend Developer at the Video Hosting System group you will be working in an modern Agile way to create high performing web products with tens of thousands concurrent users with high demands on scalability and stability. This comprises guidance and work with architecture and design, as well as implementation and troubleshooting to meet Axis quality requirements.
Our main development environment is LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). In your daily work you will interact with talented software developers and customer service teams, as well as product managers.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You have a master’s degree in computer science or similar, and several years of experience in professional web products projects and are a dedicated, innovative individual with a strong personal drive. We believe you have a keen interest in web development in a professional Linux environment, especially in the backend (e.g. PHP).
You like to work in a structured and object oriented way towards MySQL and do some magic with bash scripts and configure Linux’s servers when needed. You should have excellent PHP/Linux programming skills, good knowledge about build and integration tools and experience with Ubuntu, Red Hat, Nodejs/io.js, JavaScript and SQL.
If you have worked with any of the following areas it is considered as a merit:
* Video codecs and streaming (H.264, H.265, jpeg, MP4, MKV, RTSP, RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH)
* Networking (TCP/IP, UDP, routing, DNS, http)
* High availability and large scale Linux based systems
* Test automation (Jenkins, Gerrit, Git, Jasmine.js, e t c)

OUR NEW BUSINESS TEAM
The New Business team that is a unique group within Axis. The group is responsible for both evaluating new business ideas from a technical and a commercial perspective, and product development to offer customers the best products on the market. The team has market oriented business development resources as well as product development resources.
The VHS group is responsible for the AVHS (Axis Video Hosting Solution) product within the New Business team. The AVHS product is supporting the majority of all existing and new products that Axis is developing and is in the forefront of video security surveillance systems and continuously adds new innovative features and technology.
