We are looking for a developer to join Scania on the journey towards a truly data driven company. The portfolio of connected services will be a key ingredient to reach that goal.

We are heading for a new era in the transport sector, creating the need to understand and optimize the transport system. To do this, the right customer must be provided with the right service at the right time. By collecting and analysing the data from the trucks, we have the opportunity to create self-improvement and data-driven real time solutions.

With new opportunities come new challenges. We need to build an infrastructure to collect and process large amounts of data, build self-sustaining data analysis services, develop new algorithms, and re-use algorithms in new and ground-breaking ways.

Who are you
You are a developer and a problem solver. You want to be part of a team that delivers value, by setting short-term and concrete goals and then work focused to deliver on time. You are a star programmer accustomed to utilizing different paradigms depending on the nature of the problem. You understand that architecture is about trade-offs and you can weigh the pros and cons.

You have understood that software development on some levels resembles a factory process where repetitive moments can be automated and that the degree of automation is a good (often the best) measure of the delivery. Continuous improvement of the development process is therefore a natural priority. You perceive installing, running and monitoring software in production as an obvious part of the development work.

Software development is a craft and you, as a code ninja, are a master of automation tools and might have worked with some of the more common tools such as Git, Nexus / Artifactory, Linux, Ansible / Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Apache Spark, and Bash and if you are not already an expert on Scala or Python you have the goal and ambition to become one!
