SAR Remote Sensing Internship

The position

Vultus is developing a world class solution to eliminate waste in farming. We are utilizing modern serverless architecture on cloud computing environment. The scope of the internship is to research and investigate the use of SAR imagery (Sentinel satellite constellation) in agriculture and water quality monitoring applications. The intern will have the opportunity to get advice from our partners (Umea university, Metria) as a part of ESA BIC program. The work will allow you to learn and expand skills within the mentioned areas. As an early member of the team, you will gain large amounts of freedom, thus, it is important that you have a high quality of work and are comfortable with responsibilities.

The responsibilities include the following

- Develop and prototype proof-of-concept solutions for using of Passive/SAR remote sensing imagery in the application agriculture and water quality
monitoring.
- To support the company researches in remote sensing applications.
- To contribute to knowledge transfer across the team.
- Give brief, weekly summaries regarding remote sensing new tools/concepts.
- Work proactively with other team members.

Desired skills

- Good understanding in SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar)/Microwave/Radar imaging technologies.
- Proven background in satellite image processing tools such as MATLAB/ENVI/ERDAS/GEOMATICA/ARCGIS/QGIS.
- Programing skills.
- Experience in raster analysis & spatial analysis
- Strong work ethic and emphasis on attention to details.

Our team consists of eleven employees, about half the team working with software and GIS, half the team working with business and management.
