Axis Who?
Who is Axis, and why should you work here? All good questions. What we at Axis really does best is to be an industry leader. We have been that several times in very different ways. A long time ago we were the best at getting printers to work over a network. Currently we create the world’s best security and surveillance cameras, but we are also working on the world’s best networked speaker. Do you like radar? We are working on those as well. A funny thing is that we went from being a nobody in our current industry to be the industry leader in less than ten years. This has taught us what it takes to win. That everybody in the company needs to be working in concert. To constantly learn new things. To question old truths and dare to think (and do) differently.

Today we are one of the world’s biggest IoT companies with tens of millions connected smart devices placed in 179 countries and five thousand of the world biggest cities. But we want more. Our cameras and solutions are building the society for the next generation, and the ethical debate of what we can, want and should do to create the society that we would like to live in is an important part of our everyday conversation.

So, what about the work?
Axis is on a journey, moving from a product centric company to also being a solutions and services led company. This journey is about how we best capture ongoing value from our customers and partners. During 2017 we started several services initiatives and going forward we have decided to create a dedicated service organization that we will call the Servitization unit.

The initial focus will be on subscription, hosted and financial services. The main task is to make sure that Axis and our business partners benefit not only from onetime purchases, but also from a recurring subscription business.

To support this initiative, we are looking for an experienced frontend developer proficient in techniques such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ES6, as well as frameworks such as React and Angular. As a person, you must be open, both to new influences and new techniques, as well as being able to share your knowledge with your colleagues.

Since this is a new area, it is important that you are able to work over organizational boundaries to understand how your contribution fits into the bigger picture. You should also be comfortable working in a changing environment, where the goal changes depending on your new discoveries. Central to the role is also the ability to understand business processes and translate them into technical requirements.
