System Quality Assurance Engineer

Infinera is looking for a System Quality Assurance Engineer to become a part of our Continuous Integration and Verification team within RnD, responsible for System Integration testing of our current and next gen optical networking products. The successful candidate will join a team with extensive system knowledge of Infinera Metro products with customer quality focus in the focal Point.

Your Key Responsibilities Would Include:

Implement, perform, monitor and improve system verification tests of our existing products and products/features in development. This includes node and management systems as well as hands-on test setup builds in our dedicated Lab.

The focus is on non-functional requirements e.g. performance characteristics, interoperability, robustness, security, stability, upgradeability, usability and maintainability.

The goal is to automate these type of tests so that we can ensure we at all times have the right knowledge about our products and systems. In addition, we need to ensure that the development teams get the feedback continuously, should any implementation degrade the system level performance, via e.g. monitors or visualizations.

Develop integration test plans based on software & hardware design and system requirement documents. Work with Development & Architecture teams in understanding the feature implementation.

Education & Experience Necessary For Success:

Required:

•Candidates should have a Master’s Degree in relevant field and/or equal working experience.
•At least 5 years’ experience in testing of embedded software or good system understanding.
•Experience in both manual and automated testing.
•Skilled in writing reports of test execution and defect analysis using test management tools.
•Ability to understand the software design and interaction between sub modules.
•Programming & Scripting knowledge: Python/py.test or similar.
•Highly detail-oriented, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Highly motivated team player adept at cross-functional interaction.

Preferred:

•Networking and protocols experience.
•Experience from L2 switching network architecture and use of test equipment from e.g. IXIA, Spirent, Viavi.
•Good understand of object oriented programming.
•ISTQB certification.
